Gumption… it’s an odd word, but the cornerstone of our philosophy, and we believe at the very core of what it means to be an outdoor enthusiast.
As athletes and adventurers, we have always believed in pushing ourselves and our gear to the limits. Good gear helps you enjoy the outdoor experience. Great gear lets your outdoor sould thrive. Because we know that you don’t always have the opportunity to test gear before making that final purchase, we created Gumption Gear to share our insight and knowledge about the latest products and gear.
Whether bought, borrowed, bartered or bequeathed, we are dedicated to providing thoughtful and honest reviews. We spend days and nights vetting the latest and greatest products so you know what to expect from the gear that we’ve put to the test.
We do not abuse any product; we do our best to test within the context that it was designed. But we do push the limits because whether you are trekking through the backcountry, competing in a triathlon or simply relaxing at the beach you want to know that your gear won’t let you down.
This is what we love to do. It is our passion, and we will work diligently to share our insight and knowledge not only about gear recommendations, but trips, training suggestions and more.

We know that you have a lot of options available when it comes to reviewing you products. Just as you have high expectations for your products, our readers have high expectations for our reviews. As such we are committed to meeting and exceeding those expectations.
We don't believe that anyone can honestly come to understand a prodcut in a mere two week window. Therefore we don't rush the review process. Often times it will take 5-8 weeks for our field team to make their final report because we want to ensure that we take the time to know and understand the product.
This is this is our passion. Our athletes and outdoor enthusiasts are dedicated to providing quality and honest reviews. That being said, we are always interested in reviewing the latest and greatest gear and sharing what we learn with our fellow outdoor enthusiasts.
